Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Boston 2018 Team Pick'Em Challenge?

In the Pick’Em Challenge, your goal is to score as many points as possible by correctly picking the teams that will advance (and perform well, or poorly) during the Group Stage, and by correctly picking teams that win their matchups during the Playoffs.

How do I play the Boston 2018 Team Pick'Em Challenge?

The Boston 2018 Team Pick'Em Challenge is played exclusively with Team Stickers, which are available for purchase in-game or from the Steam Community Market. To make a pick in the Pick'Em Challenge, you must own an unused sticker for the picked team. A single team sticker is sufficient for picking that team in any stage of the event.

What happens when I make a pick?

Making a pick in the Preliminary and Group Stages will lock the sticker and it will not be usable or trade-able until all games in that stage are completed. Similarly, making a pick for the Playoffs will lock the sticker until the tournament is complete. You may change your pick before each stage begins but undoing a pick will not unlock the sticker—it will remain unusable and untrade-able.

When can I play the Boston 2018 Team Pick'Em Challenge?

You have three opportunities to play the Pick'Em Challenge. You can make picks for the Preliminary Stage, the Group Stage and the Playoffs. Make your picks before the beginning of each stage and the finals. After the first game begins, all picks are locked.

How do I score points in the Boston 2018 Team Pick'Em Challenge?

You can score up to 111 points by making correct picks in the Team Pick'Em Challenge. During the Preliminary and Group Stages, you will earn points for each correct pick (9 points available in the Prelims, 27 points available in the Group Stage). During the Playoffs, you will earn 12 points for every correct Quarterfinal pick, 10 points for every correct Semifinal pick, and 7 points for correctly picking the Grand Final Champions (75 points available).

What do I get for picking correctly in the Boston 2018 Team Pick'Em Challenge?

You can earn a Bronze, Silver, or Gold Pick'Em Challenge Trophy by scoring 25, 50, or 75 points, respectively. Pick'Em Challenge Trophies are badges that are displayable on your CS:GO avatar and on your Steam profile. In addition to winning a trophy, you can compete with your friends on the Pick'Em Friends Leaderboard.
